Accessing Your Amazon VPC with a Software VPN

The StrongSwan VPN logo

Amazon's VPC is a great way to set up your own segregated network in the cloud. But accessing it remotely can be a pain. What may be an OK solution if you have a production environment, a dedicated networking team and budget for a hardware VPN box, is a bit of an overkill if you just want developers to connect into the VPC from their laptop. Securely, of course.

We've just posted a Howto document to the StrongSwan wiki with a detailed description of setting up a VPN gateway in VPC, allowing you to connect remotely into any of the VPC instances. The document is available at http://wiki.strongswan.org/projects/strongswan/wiki/AwsVpc. Enjoy!
